In Massachusetts, 27% of land is permanently conserved. Mass Audubon is looking to grow that by 3% over the next six years, an area roughly the size of Boston, Worcester and Springfield combined.

The largest nature-based conservation organization in New England is launching a $75 million campaign to reach 30% of permanently conserved land in the commonwealth by 2030.

Called the “30×30 Catalyst Fund,” the goal is to protect 100,000 more acres, putting the state in line with goals shared by the leaders of 190 countries at the COP 15 climate change forum in 2022 — that each country conserve 30% of its lands and waters by 2030.
